Cloud Backup for Veeam Resellers

The Cloud Backup for Veeam Resellers section of the phoenixNAP Client Portal allows resellers to add Cloud Backup repositories, view and modify Permanent and Burst Storage allocations for the customers, as well as to view and export Veeam billing reports.


Accessing Cloud Backup for Veeam

To access the reseller Cloud Connect Backup for Veeam section:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.

Upon opening Cloud Backup for Veeam, you will be presented with the My Storage Summary page where you can view your own Veeam storage quota if available. For more information on this section click here.

My Customer’s Storage and Pricing

My Customer’s Storage and Pricing lists all customer accounts with the storage allocation and pricing details as well as the reseller profit margin. Here you can add Cloud Backup Permanent and Burst Storage Quota for end clients.

 Note

You need to create a PNCP customer account before you can add new Veeam Cloud Backup repositories.

In order to reach this tab:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.
  4. Navigate to the My Customer’s Storage and Pricing tab.

  1. Storage Quota Location Nodes. Select one of the available locations to filter the customers by the storage backup location. The default selection is to display the customers for All nodes.
  2. Add New Cloud Backup. Allows you to add a new Veeam Cloud Backup Repository for your customers. You can find instructions for adding a new Cloud Backup on this page.
  3. Bulk Changes. Click here to perform a bulk update of the price and/or permanent/burst storage for your customers.
  4. Search for Customers’ Veeam Storage. Start typing in the search bar to see the filtered results in real time in the table. The search criteria can be the name of a customer’s account, the amount of storage, or any value from the Permanent Storage and Burst Storage columns.
  5. Table. The table consists of various pieces of information for your customers’ accounts. You can sort the data in the table by clicking on the arrows at the top of the available columns.
    • Customer Account. This column shows the account name for individual customers.
    • Location. This Column will show your customers’ Veeam Cloud Backup storage location.
    • Storage Allocation. Here you can view your customers’ Permanent and Burst Storage Quota ratio visually represented in the horizontal bar.
    • Permanent Storage. Tooltip Permanent Storage This section of the table will show you the price you pay to phoenixNAP for 1TB of Permanent Storage, how much you charge your customers per 1TB, and your profit margin. Click the More info link to show or hide the tooltip with the Permanent Storage information.
    • Burst Storage. Tooltip Burst Storage This section of the table will show you the price you pay to phoenixNAP for 1TB of Burst Storage, how much you charge your customers per 1TB and your profit margin. Click the More info link to show or hide the tooltip with the Burst Storage information.

    • Status. This column will list a customer’s account status. There are three possible statuses.
      • Active. This view will be set as default. The services with the status Active will have the green checkmark and the activation date displayed beneath.
      • Cancellation Requested. If service cancellation is requested and still in process, this status will be shown. The date of the cancellation request will be displayed under the service status.
      • Service Cancelled. Once the service cancellation request has been processed, the status will read Service Cancelled and the date will be displayed below it.
  6. View. Toggle between Active, Cancellation Requested, Service Cancelled and All to filter the Customer Account list by the status of the Veeam service.
  7. Pagination. For large customer account lists, page numbers will help you to navigate to the desired part of the list.

Create a PNCP Customer Account

If you do not have any customer accounts added in PNCP, you will first need to create a new customer account before you can add a Veeam Cloud Backup Repository.

To add an account within PNCP:

  1. Open the Manage mega menu.
  2. Click on Add Account under the Reseller heading.

On the Add Account screen you will find the following fields:

  1. Account ID. System generated — One will be assigned when you save the customer.
  2. Account Assigned ID. Enter a unique account assigned ID (numbers only). Optional: You may enter your own internal reference number for this customer.
  3. Account Name. The name of the account as it appears in the system's official records.
  4. Account Email. This is the main contact email address. Notifications will be sent to this address and may differ from individual user emails. The credentials this client would use in the Add Service Provider section of Veeam will also be sent to this address in a separate email.
  5. Password Phrase. Used to validate identity for change requests.

  6. Permission Levels for this account.
    • Reseller. If Yes, then provide a Report a Bug Email and Admin URLThe URL this account's customers will use to login. .
    • Public Cloud. If Yes, then you have the option to Assign Pricing for Virtual Products. You can assign a Default Pricing, Choose PricingSelect a new Pricing Profile to assign to the Client. , or Do it Later.

  7. Create Primary User. Customer accounts must be established with at least one user. More may be added on the User Profile Screen.
    • Login Email. Cannot be changed after the account is created.
    • Login Password. Type in the login password and confirm it in the re-enter field. Minimum seven characters, and must contain at least one number and one letter.
    • First Name & Last Name
    • Email
    • Phone
    • Send "Welcome Email". Click the checkbox in order to send a welcome email to the client.

  8. When finished, click Add Account.

 Billing

You are responsible for billing your client.

Add a New Cloud Backup Repository

To add a new Veeam Cloud Backup Repository for your existing customers, follow the steps listed below.

 Note

This procedure needs to be performed for each Cloud Backup location.

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.
  4. Navigate to the My Customers' Storage and Pricing tab.
  5. Click Add a New Cloud Backup.
  6. Choose an existing customer account from the dropdown menu. If you do not have any PNCP customer accounts, you may add an account under the Reseller menu as explained above. veeamcustomer
  7. Select an available Cloud Backup Location from the dropdown menu. veeamlocation
  8. Define the Permanent and/or Burst storage quota in 0.5TB increments by clicking on the arrows next to the input fields; you may also insert the values manually.
    You need to assign Permanent Storage to a customer account before you can add Burst Storage.

    For Permanent or Burst storage allocations larger than 10TB per storage please contact Sales at 1.877.588.5918.
  9. Define how much You Charge per TB of storage.veeampricing
  10. Click Add to finish adding the Cloud Backup Repository.

Once you click Add, the system sends out a separate email to the ‘Account Email’ that was specified in the customer account creation. The email contains the credentials they would use in the Add Service Provider section of Veeam.


Reset Password for Veeam Cloud Backup

In order to reset passwords for Veeam Cloud Backup, you need to submit a ticket to the NOC team.
Your clients need to contact you directly and ask you for a password reset. Once you receive such a request, you can submit a password reset request to us.
There are several ways to submit a Support Request:

  • Method #1. Click the Submit Ticket icon on the Dashboard (landing page).
  • Method #2. Open the Support drop-down menu and choose Submit a Ticket.
  • Method #3. Alternatively, open the My Account mega menu, click on Support Tickets, and then click on the Submit Ticket icon.

No matter what method you choose, a pop-up window opens:

  1. In the pop-up window complete the Subject and Message fields, making certain to include as much detail as possible including the exact text of any error messages received.
  2. Choose the problematic Device from the drop-down menu and Select the Service.
  3. Use the Choose File button to attach files such as screenshots (this opens your operating system's browse function).
  4. Once you've attached any necessary files, click Send.

Alternatively, you can also click the "Email Support" button to send an email from your email client. In that case, your support request will not be listed in the Client Portal.


Modify your Customer's Storage Quota

To modify a customer’s storage quota:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.
  4. Navigate to the My Customer’s Storage and Pricing tab.
  5. Locate the Customer Account you want to modify. You can search for a customer using the search bar or filter by location.
  6. In the Manage column click on Actions.
  7. Select Modify Customer’s Storage and Prices in the pop-up window.

  8. Adjust the Permanent and/or Burst Storage quota in 0.5TB increments by clicking on the arrows or inserting the values manually.
  9. Adjust how much You Charge for the storage type you are modifying.
  10. Click Update when finished.

Cancel Customer’s Veeam Service

In order to request the cancellation of the Cloud Backup for Veeam service for any of your customers:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.
  4. Navigate to the My Customer’s Storage and Pricing tab.
  5. Locate the Customer Account you want to modify. You can search for a customer using the search bar or filter by location.
  6. In the Manage column click on Actions.
  7. Select Cancel Customer’s Veeam Service in the pop-up window.

  8. Review the customer’s account details and click Request Cancellation to cancel the service.

You will be presented with the cancellation confirmation dialog. Your customer’s Veeam storage will be saved for seven (7) days after the Veeam Cloud Backup Service has been cancelled. The dialog will show you the exact date when the customer’s storage data will be deleted.
Note that the status of the cancelation request will be added to the Cloud Backup for Veeam table and will be shown once you check off the ‘Show Cancelled Cloud Backups’ box.


Bulk Changes

Cloud Backup for Veeam for resellers section in our Client Portal allows you to perform bulk price and storage changes to save you time and effort when you need to make updates for multiple customers.

To perform a bulk update of the price and/or permanent/burst storage for your customers:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.
  4. Navigate to the My Customer’s Storage and Pricing tab.
  5. Click on Bulk Changes at the top right side of the table.
  6. Select a Cloud Backup Location or leave ‘All’ to show all available customers.
  7. Modify the current price or set a new price for Permanent and/or Burst Storage by clicking the corresponding radio button.
    • Raise or Lower the price by certain percentage or you can raise or lower the price in the customer’s account currency value.
    • Set a Price in the customer’s account currency value. The new fixed price will be used instead of the existing one.

     Note

    The fields must not be empty, you need to enter a number value, 0 is allowed as well. If the customer account you are modifying has a different currency than your account, the input value will be converted to that customer’s account currency.

  8. Select customer(s) by checking off the boxes in the list next to the account names or use the search bar. You can also Select All/Deselect all by clicking on the box below the list. The area at the bottom of the window will show you the selected customer accounts and their repository location. You need to select at least one customer account.
  9. Click Update when you finish making the changes.
  10. Confirm the action one more time before the changes take effect.

 Note

The pricing update wizard only updates prices for ALL selected customer accounts. If one of the price updates is not possible, the changes will be reverted for other accounts and you will receive an instructional error message.

Billing Report

Billing Report provides a summary of the charges for individual customers by their Cloud Backup for Veeam storage location for the selected period.

To reach the Billing Report page:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click Cloud Backup for Veeam under the Additional Cloud Services heading.
  4. Navigate to the Billing Report tab.

Running the Report

To view the detailed report for a specific billing period:

  1. Select the reporting period start date and end date. Note that the end date must be a later date than the period start date.

  2. Click on the Run Report button Run Report
    If the data is available for the selected period, the report will show the list of all clients who used backup services during that time.

     Note

    The billing report period is limited to 1 (one) year .
  3. Click on a customer’s account name to expand the accordion to show the location accordion(s).

  4. Click on a location accordion for the client in question to reveal the detailed billing report.

Reading the Report

Once you click on a customer and select a location, the detailed Veeam Billing Report will be presented in a table.

The following pieces of information are available:

  • Report Total. The sum for all client accounts belonging to the selected billing period.
  • Month. The first month from the selected billing period will show here. If the period includes more than one month, individual reports for every month will be listed.
  • Date From and Date to. The period of the service duration.
  • Perm Storage (in TB). The amount of Permanent Storage the client was charged for, in TB.
  • Cost (TB per Month). The cost of 1 (one) TB of Permanent or Burst storage per month.
  • Perm Monthly Cost. The cost of the total amount of the contracted Permanent Storage per month.
  • Burst Storage (in TB). The amount of Burst Storage the client was charged for, shown in TB.
  • Burst Monthly Cost. The cost of the total amount of paid storage per month.
  • Unadjusted Monthly Cost. The cost of total storage quota, permanent and burst, for one month.
  • Duration (days). How many days the client used the backup service.
  • Adjusted Cost for Duration. The calculated cost for the duration of the backup service.
  • Client Total. The total cost during the listed month.
  • Client Total (location). The total cost for the selected location.

 Note

Only 1 (one) customer report can be expanded at a time. If you click on a different customer, the report you were viewing for the previous customer will collapse.

The billing report can also include your costs as a reseller.

Exporting the Reports

In order to save a billing report to your computer or a mobile device, we included the export functionality.
You can save the file in the Excel or CSV format.

To perform the export:

  1. Select a billing period as you would normally do.
  2. Click on Export Report link next to the Run Report button.
  3. Chose the document type, Excel or CSV.
  4. Select the level of report results to export: Summary or Details.
  5. Click Create Document to generate the report in the selected format.
  6. Save the file from your browser to the desired location.
