How to configure IIS7 to use IPv6

Here's how you install IPv6:

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Network Connections.
  3. Right-click any local area connection.
  4. Select Properties.
  5. Select Install.

In the 'Select Network Component Type' box, click Protocol and then click Add. After, locate the 'Select Network Protocol' dialog box, click Microsoft TCP/IP version 6, and then click OK.

Select Close to save those changes to your network connection.

IIS already supports IPv6 on your server so once IPv6 is integrated in your setup all you'll need to do is restart IIS service. Once done your site will listen for the IPv6 request. If you add sites after the integration it'll automatically listen for IPv6. Base configuration for IIS7 to use IPv6 is now complete.
