Enable/Disable the Firewall


Enable

The firewall is disabled on your account by default.

 Deny All Rule

The Firewall contains a built-in DENY ALL rule, therefore enabling the firewall will deny all access to your VMs immediately if you have not already created rules to allow traffic to your VMs. Because of this, you may want to Add and Enable Rules before enabling the firewall.

To turn the firewall on:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click the Virtual Firewall link under the Public Cloud heading.
  4. Open the Firewall Status drop-down menu and click Enabled.
  5. Click Enable Firewall to confirm your choice.
  6. Click Apply Changes at the top of the Firewall Rules list to commit your changes to the system.
  7. You will receive a confirmation message.

Disable

 Note

Disabling the Firewall will allow ALL traffic access to your VMs.


To turn the firewall off:

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.
  2. Open the Manage mega menu.
  3. Click the Virtual Firewall link under the Public Cloud heading.
  4. Open the Firewall Status drop-down menu and click Disabled.
  5. Click Disable Firewall to confirm your choice.
  6. Click Apply Changes at the top of the Firewall Rules list to commit your changes to the system.
  7. You will receive a confirmation message.
